The City of Cortland announced a road closure for today (March 26) as the Groton Avenue Public Improvement Project entered its second day.

According to Crown City Rising, Groton Avenue between Graham Avenue and Homer Avenue will be closed as construction crews continue the installation of a sanitary sewer main. The work will go from the area of Tallmadge Tire to Graham Avenue.

NYSEG’s subcontractor, DDS, will also continue today the relocation of a portion of a gas main from the closure point at Graham Avenue towards Homer Avenue.

The note from Crown City Rising stated that the area will have a “hard” road closure until 4 p.m. today.

Detour route signs are on Floral Avenue, Madison Street and Lincoln Avenue. Drivers can also detour through the college hill at SUNY Cortland.
