After a cold front last night, temperatures will be cooler today.

Low pressure along the front over New England will throw some thin overcast back to the west and into our area today.

However, no precipitation is expected, and there may be some sunnier periods early and late in the day. Even with the clouds, a little filtered sunshine may be possible at times.

Winds will be from the northwest behind the cold front. It will be a light wind, though, with speeds near or slightly above 5 mph. Top gusts will be around or under 20 mph.

Temperatures will work their way up to a high in the mid 40s this afternoon.

Skies will turn clear this evening as the coastal low departs. Evening temperatures will quickly drop into and through the 30s. Overnight lows will be in the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Sun and clouds. Breezy. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: More clouds than sun. Possibly some late rain. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a few showers, especially early when they mix with or be snow. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Monday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs near 50.
