The McGraw baseball team played their first regular season game at the Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex against DeRuyter Thursday evening. McGraw won the game with a score of 17-5.
McGraw was led by Brennan Wilson (3 runs, 3 hits & 3 RBI’s), Owen Mulchay (2 runs, 3 hits & 4 RBI’s), Riley VanLiew (2 runs, 3 hits & 2 RBI’s), Thomas Lea (1 run, 1 hit & 5 RBI’s), Blair Mulcahy (4 runs), Jaydon Bassett (3 runs), Calob Sutton (1 run & 1 hit), Emory Sears (1 hit & 1 RBI).
McGraw pitchers Blair Mulcahy and Calob Sutton combined to record a total of 15 strikeouts in the game. Mulcahy threw 11 strikeouts, while Sutton recorded 4 strikeouts.

Homer was led by Maria Partis (7 goals & 1 assists), Ella Spanbauer (2 goals & 1 assist), Lilly Sorenson (2 goals & 1 assist), Brayden Partigianoni (2 goals), Emma Effinger (1 assist), Isabelle Small (1 assist), and Aislynn Cobb (4 saves).
Clinton was led by Leah Altieri (4 goals), Dakota Deveans (1 goal & 2 assists), Eliza O'Donnell (1 goal), Claire Mihm (1 goal), and Zeno Mummer (7 saves).
Homer is scheduled to play on the road on Monday (April 1st) against LaFayette at 4:30pm.
Varsity Girls Golf: Marathon vs. Multiple Teams
The Marathon Lady Olympians played against Horseheads, Elmira, and Watkins Glen at the Willowcreek Golf Course on Thursday.
Marathon came in second place after scoring 209 points. Horseheads won first place 1ith 194 points, Elmira got 3rd place with 299 points, and Watkins Glen did not place as they didn’t have a full roster. (Reminder: Lowest score in golf wins).
