Cortland provides details on construction work this week (April 1-5)

The City of Cortland broke down details on construction work taking place this week from today (April 1) to Friday (April 5).

According to Crown City Rising, work for the Groton Avenue Public Improvement Project includes:

  • Today (April 1): Crews will continue installing a new sanitary sewer main line along Groton Avenue between Homer Avenue and Graham Avenue.
  • 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮-𝟯: Crews will be milling (removing the top course of asphalt) on Groton Avenue between Main Street and Otter Creek Place. This will result in alternating lane closures in the immediate areas where the milling work is occurring.
  • 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟰-𝟱: Crews will resume installing sanitary sewer main line along Groton Avenue between Homer Avenue and Graham Avenue. They will also begin installing sanitary sewer lateral connections to individual properties. Property owners will be notified of anticipated disruptions in service.

Construction work for today will result in no through traffic on Groton Avenue between Homer Avenue and Graham Avenue. The update from Crown City Rising also noted that all detours construction activity is subject to weather and other related variables.
