It will be another soggy day today as low pressure to our west continues to impact our weather.

Rain showers this morning will transition back to another period of steady rain. This rain will last through the second half of the morning and much of the afternoon.

Embedded within the larger area of rain will be a few heavier downpours. A rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out.

Southeast winds will increase further this morning, peaking during the late morning and early afternoon. Wind speeds will be near 20 mph with gusts, especially over higher elevations, as high as 45 mph.

The wind will lessen this afternoon and precipitation will become more showery late in the day. On and off showers will continue this evening and through the overnight.

Starting in the late afternoon, some of the precipitation will mix with or turn to snow and sleet. This will become more common during the nighttime hours.

Overnight accumulations should be limited mainly to the higher elevations, where an inch or two will be possible. Lower elevations will see a coating if any accumulation at all.

Temperatures today will top out in the mid 40s this afternoon. A slow drop into the 30s will take place this evening with an overnight low in the low 30s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Rain and snow showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 30s.

Friday: Rain and snow showers. Morning lows in near 30. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Saturday: A few more rain showers, mixing with a little snow early. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
