Today will likely be the warmest day yet in 2024 as temperatures soar behind yesterday’s warm front.

Steady south winds of 5-10 mph will pump warm air into the region.

Sunshine will mix with mainly thin clouds to help realize the heating potential in the atmosphere. Overall, the clouds will be fewest and thinnest in the morning, and thickest and most plentiful towards sunset.

Afternoon highs will make a run at 70 degrees throughout the county, with lower elevations likely rising a degree or two above 70. Even higher elevations will have a shot at hitting 70 degrees.

Tonight, clouds will thicken further, and a few scattered showers will start to become possible.

The chances for rain will increase overnight but will never become a widespread affair. A few isolated thunderstorms will also be possible.

Evening temperatures will drop through the 60s and into the 50s with an overnight low around 50 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: A few rain showers, especially in the morning. Some breaks of sun. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs near 60.
