A morning cold front will set the stage for today with breezy winds and falling temperatures.

As the front moves through this morning, a band of rain and some thunderstorms will move into the region. These are mostly likely in the early and mid morning hours.

Behind this band, most of the remaining daytime hours should be dry, though a stray spit of rain here or there cannot be totally ruled out.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy with no more than a brief thinning of the clouds.

Winds will turn to the southwest with gusts up to 35 mph. These winds will bring the cooler air into the region.

Temperatures will be at their warmest early this morning before falling to the low 50s this afternoon. The temperature will continue to drop tonight, with evening temperatures falling through the 40s. Overnight lows will end up in the mid 30s.

Rain will move back into the region this evening and should become steady through the night and into Saturday morning. As temperatures fall, some wet snow could mix in or even take over, mainly at higher elevations.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Morning rain, mixing with snow early. Precipitation ends in the afternoon. Gusty northwest winds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Sunday: Some afternoon showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
