An individual is facing sexual abuse allegations in Cortland County, according to a report.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that Nicholas R. Carew, 30, of Canastota, is facing sexual abuse allegations that occurred in 2010 and 2011 in the city of Cortland.
According to the report, Carew allegedly subjected one victim to “inappropriate sexual contact on several occasions” during that time period.
Carew turned himself into the county sheriff’s office last Thursday (April 11), where he was arrested. He has been charged with four counts of first-degree criminal sex act (a Class-B Felony) and four counts of forcible touching (a misdemeanor).
Carew was processed and sent to Cortland County Jail on a bail set at $5,000 cash or a $25,000 bond. He is due to appear in Cortland city court on April 24.
