An area of low pressure crossing southern Canada will be the primary influence on our weather today.

Most of the day will be cloudy with the best chance for some sun filtering through thinner clouds coming this morning.

Thicker overcast is expected in the afternoon with a few rain showers possibly showing up before the sun sets.

Steady light rain will then move in this evening and continue into the overnight. By dawn, the rain should be more showery.

Rain amounts will remain on the low side, with most areas seeing around a quarter of an inch, give or take about a tenth.

Winds will kick up ahead of this system, coming in from the south-southwest. Wind speeds will be around 15 mph with top gusts around 35 mph.

The strongest winds will come this afternoon and they should diminish as the rain arrives this evening.

Temperatures will get a boost from the southerly flow with highs around or slightly above 60 degrees. Evening temperatures will slowly drop through the 50s and into the 40s. Overnight lows will be in the mid 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Scattered rain showers, mostly in the morning and early afternoon. Temperatures in the mid 40s early, then falling to near 40 degrees in the afternoon.

Thursday: Sun and some thin clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows around 30 degrees. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday: Clouds, some sun, and some rain showers, especially late. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
