A morning cold front will drop temperatures today with a cold night ahead.

Temperatures will be at their warmest during the first half of the morning as the front moves through the region. Temperatures will mainly be in the mid 40s during this time.

Rain will be common this morning as well and should linger into the early afternoon. As temperatures drop behind the front, some wet snow may mix in.

The temperature will bottom out in the early to mid afternoon with some areas slipping down into the upper 30s.

Winds will be from the northwest with speeds of 10-15 mph. A few gusts may reach 30 mph.

If some sun comes out before it gets too late in the afternoon, temperatures may rebound a couple of degrees. If it remains mostly cloudy, though, temperatures will hold steady late.

Any lingering clouds will quickly dissipate as the sun sets, leaving clear skies throughout the evening and overnight.

This will lead to ideal cooling conditions, and lows should dive all the way down into the mid 20s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Friday: Mostly sunny. A few thin clouds late. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday: Clouds, some sun, and some rain showers, especially late. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. A few stray showers and maybe a thunderstorm. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
