High pressure will keep our weather quiet today, but temperatures will retreat a bit as northwest winds take hold.

The wind may be from the west for a time this morning, but by midday, should be from the northwest and increasing. Afternoon wind speeds will end up near 10 mph.

These winds will import some slightly cooler air, which will be enhanced by the cold waters of Lake Ontario. Afternoon highs should be expected to reach the mid 60s.

Skies will be a mix of sunshine and thin clouds high in the atmosphere. The clouds may not do a whole lot to block the sun at times, and it should overall still be a fairly sunny day.

The clouds will decrease slightly tonight, allowing for some clear periods here and there. For the most part, though, it will remain partly cloudy.

Temperatures will drop steadily through the evening, quickly making it into the 50s.

Overnight lows will end up in the mid 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Clouds with some sun. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Rain showers likely, especially late. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Sunday: Morning clouds and maybe a shower. Maybe some afternoon sun. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Monday: More clouds than sun. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.
