As construction continues in Cortland this week, updates were provided on various projects.

According to Crown City Rising, crews with CCI began the process of excavating and preparing the road base on the west side of Main Street from Groton Avenue to West Court Street.

It is also anticipated that crews will mill the temporary asphalt on the west side of Main Street from West Court Street to Tompkins Street. They will continue excavating and preparing the road base along the west side of Main Street.

Updates noted that the temporary asphalt on the east side of Main Street will stay in place to allow for continued access to downtown and provide some limited on-street parking.

Also on Monday, CCI subcontractor PC&G began constructing the new traffic signal foundations at the corners of Court Street, West Court Street and Main Street.
