Local law enforcement agencies will participate in the STOP-DWI Memorial Day weekend high visibility engagement campaign.

The campaign began on Friday (May 24) and will go until Monday (May 27) on Memorial Day.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Cortland Police Department and the Village of Homer Police Department are involved in the campaign. It aims to further reduce the incidence of drunk and impaired driving.

The campaign is one of many statewide initiatives promoted by STOP-DWI New York and Governor Kathy Hochul’s traffic safety committee. The campaign will also target Fourth of July, Labor Day weekend, Halloween and more this year.
