Police tell reporters on scene that the body is believed to be that of 21-month-old Maddox Lawrence, who was the subject of an Amber Alert issued Sunday.

Her father, who police have said took the infant Saturday night with intentions to harm himself and the child, was taken into custody by the Syracuse Police Department Monday afternoon.

Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler told CNYCentral Tuesday that police had considered searching an area of Tully for the missing child. Several police cars were spotted at Labrador Hollow.
