Second person implicated in Dryden gun theft

DRYDEN, NY - A man who stole, and then sold, a gun from a Dryden apartment on Thursday reportedly had some help, police say.

On Thursday, it was reported that Christopher M. Merkley, age 27 of Dryden, unlawfully entered an apartment on North Street in the Town of Dryden and stole a gun.

The Tompkins County Sheriff's office later released additional details. According to the sheriff's office, Natasha M. Warner, 37, of Dryden was also arrested for burglary, a class C felony. It was also revealed that Merkley had sold the stolen weapon.

It is alleged it is alleged that Warner assisted Merkley in burglarizing the home.

Warner was taken before Judge Howel of the Town of Lansing Court where she was arraigned.  Warner has been remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash or $5,000 Bond.  Case is to be transferred to the Town of Dryden Court where Warner is scheduled to appear on Aug. 15.
