Cortland man violated order of protection, police say

Officers found that the defendant attempted to contact victim while the victim was the protected party in an Order of Protection. The defendant was arrested by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office on May 18 and charged with an Aggravated Family Offense, a felony, and second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.
Man accused of punching woman on Main Street
Name: Henry J. Hernandez
Location: Main Street, Cortland, N.Y.
Summary: On May 10, at about 12:45 a.m., police allege that Hernandez struck a 23-year-old female in the mouth with a closed fist in front of 103 Main Street. The victim received a bloody lip, had a tooth knocked out, and another tooth chipped. He was charged with misdemeanor assault and released on an appearance ticket.
Man fled police on motorcycle
Name: Robert J. Mamoone
Location: Cortland, N.Y.
Summary: At about 6:20 p.m. Monday, an officer observed Mamoone driving a motorcycle on West Court Street. The officer knew Mamoone didn't have a license and attempted to stop him; however he refused to stop, leaving the city on Groton Avenue at a high rate of speed. For safety reasons, officers stopped the pursuit and obtained a warrant and arrested Mamoone later that day. He was charged with driving without a license, fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, and numerous vehicle and traffic violations. He was jailed on $1,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond.
Driver gave false name to police
Name: Shawn P. Hapgood
Location: Cortland, N.Y.
Summary: On Monday afternoon, Hapgood was in a van on Pearl Street asking women if they wanted a ride, police said. When confronted by police, Hapgood gave a false date of birth to the officers. He was charged with false personation and driving without a license.
Man threatens other man on Facebook, police say
Name: Richard W. Hoy
Location: Cortland, N.Y.
Summary: On May 19, at around 7 p.m., Hoy threatened to harm a 26-year-old man on Facebook, police said. When he was arrested, he was found to have methamphetamine in his possession. He was charged with aggravated harassment and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
