Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, August 18

For today's weather forecast, forecasters are anticipating a mostly cloudy day with there being a 40 percent chance of scattered showers throughout the day.

Showers are likely to begin mainly after 10 a.m. and will develop to possible thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Winds could also gust as high as 20 miles per hour early in the afternoon.

Chances of precipitation will then drop to around 20 percent in the evening.

Temperatures will reach a high near 84 degrees during the day and decrease to around 65 degrees at night.

Here is a look at this upcoming week's weather forecast, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton:

Monday: Partly cloudy, with there being a 70 percent chance of showers in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high of around 85 degrees during the day and drop to a near 61 degrees at night.

Tuesday: Partly sunny. with temperatures reaching a high near 82 degrees during the day. It will then become cloudy late in the afternoon with there being a 30 percent chance of showers. Temperatures will then drop to around 60 degrees at night.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with there being a 70 percent chance of showers at the beginning of the afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high near 83 degrees during the day and decrease to around 59 degrees at night.

Thursday: Mostly sunny during the day with temperatures increasing to a near 73 degrees. It will then begin to become partly cloudy late in the afternoon with there being a 40 percent chance of showers in the evening. Temperatures will finally drop to around 51 degrees at night.

Friday: Sunny with temperatures reaching a high of around 71 degrees during the day. Temperatures will then begin to drop to a near 49 degrees in the evening.
