Yesterday, the #1 seed Marathon boys varsity soccer team defeated the Margaretville Central Blue Devils in the Section IV Class D Semi-Finals.
The team is now one game away from a title.
The Olympians came up with a 1-0 win over the Blue Devils, allowing them to move forward to the championship game of this year's Sectionals tournament, where they will be facing #3 seed Cherry Valley-Springfield.
Cherry Valley-Springfield defeated #2 seed South Kortright by a score of 2-1 in the Semi-Finals.
The Finals will take place at the Oneonta Hall of Fame Fields this Saturday, November 2nd. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Field 4.
The Marathon girls soccer team will also be playing in the Section IV Finals on Saturday against Cherry Valley-Springfield. Their game is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Field 4 of the Oneonta Hall of Fame Fields.
