Dispute in Cortlandville leads to arrest for violating order of protection

PRESS RELEASE

On March 10, 2021 New York State Police at Homer arrested Kelly E. Giannone, age 25 of Dryden, NY for the felony of Criminal Contempt in the first degree and the misdemeanor of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree (prevent emergency call).

Troopers were dispatched by Cortland County 911 to a report of a domestic dispute outside of a residence on Route 215 in the town of Cortlandville.  An investigation revealed that Giannone struck a victim numerous times during a dispute.  Giannone is also accused of taking the victim’s phone so that the victim could not call 911.  Troopers also learned that there is an existing non-harass order of protection between Giannone and the victim.

Giannone was arrested and transported to SP Homer for processing.  She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.  She was scheduled to appear in the town of Cortlandville court on March 24, 2021.
