The Homer Varsity Track & Field team hit the road to compete in a dual meet against Mexico Wednesday evening. The Boy’s team lost 48-75 while the Girl’s team won 65-54.
Here are some highlights of Wednesday’s meet:
Homer Boys
- Gabe O’Donnell won the 110 meter high hurdles and the high jump. He also finished third in the 200 meter dash.
- Cooper VanDee won the 400 meter dash and came in second in the discus.
- Tommy Mahunik won the 800 meter race and was second in the 400 meter dash.
- Jonah Campos won the shot put and came in third in the 800 meter race.
- Tommy Mahunik, Cooper VanDee, Gabe O’Donnell, and Gabe Austin won the 4 x 400 meter relay.
- David Morse finished second in the 100 meter and the 200 meter dash.
- Anderson Lowell placed second in the 1,600 meter race with a great last lap surge.
- Andrew Lynch finished third in the discus.
Homer Girls
- Alyssa Swayze won the 1,500 meter and the 3,000 meter race.
- Jane Gugerty won the triple jump and placed second in the 100 meter hurdles.
- Emma Anderson won the 400 hurdles.
- Camdyn Cole won the 100 meter dash.
- Alyssa Swayze, Becky Jones, Brianna Cash, and Emma Anderson won the 4 x 800 meter relay.
- Eddie Russo, Julie McGory, Jane Gugerty, and Camdyn Cole won the 4 x 100 meter relay.
- Camdyn Cole, Becky Jones, Jane Gugerty, and Emma Anderson won the 4 x 400 meter relay .
- Hannah McMasters placed second in the shot put and discus events.
- Eddie Russo placed second in the triple jump and the 200 meter dash. She also came in third in the 100 meter dash.
- Brianna Cash finished second in the 400 meter dash.
- Becky Jones finished second in the 800 meter race.
- Taylor Chisholm placed third in the 100 meter Hurdles and the 200 meter dash.
- Morgan Robideau placed third in the triple jump.
The Homer Trojans will host CBA (Christian Brothers Academy) for a dual meet next Wednesday, May 5th.
