Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, June 19

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, June 19, 2021:

A summery day is ahead with warm temperatures, some humidity, and a chance for some showers and storms.

The best chance for rain will be later this afternoon and into the early evening as a bundle of atmospheric energy moves into the region. There is some question as to how many showers and storms will develop, and if they do, how strong they may be.

The most likely scenario will be for at least a few scattered storms but with only a small, localized risk for a stronger storm.

Outside of any showers and storms, skies will alternate between periods of clouds and sunnier times.

Winds will be from the southwest and west at 5-10 mph. A brief turn to the northwest will accompany the passage of the atmospheric energy late this afternoon, but winds will quickly turn back to the west this evening.

Temperatures will reach a high near or just above 80 degrees today. The far southern parts of the county could approach the mid 80s.

Tonight, temperatures will slowly fall back into the 60s and end up in the upper 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Perhaps an afternoon shower or storm. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Monday: Afternoon and evening showers and storms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s.

Tuesday: Rain and thunderstorms likely, mostly in the morning. Morning temperatures in the upper 60s. Afternoon temperatures in the low 60s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.
