Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, August 30

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, August 30, 2021:

A cold front will move through the region today, finally sweeping away the high humidity.

This front will approach the region this morning and move through during the early afternoon hours. Scattered showers will be possible through the morning and midday hours.

Since the front is moving through earlier in the day, there will not be a large amount of time for showers and storms to develop. As such, some areas will probably miss out on the rain altogether.

As dry air moves in behind the front, clouds will diminish late in the day, leaving skies mostly clear for the overnight.

Temperatures will not change much with the frontal passage, with highs in the mid 70s during the second half of the afternoon. Dewpoints, however, will drop into the 60s during the latter afternoon.

By early Tuesday morning, the dewpoint should be in the 50s with overnight lows bottoming out around 60 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Tuesday: Sunshine filtered by thin clouds. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: More clouds than sun. Watching the remains of Hurricane Ida for some rain at night. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Thursday: More clouds than sun. Watching the remains of Hurricane Ida for some morning showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
