Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Monday’s events:
Varsity Girls Basketball: McGraw vs. Madison
The McGraw Lady Eagles beat Madison with a score of 41-23.
With this win, McGraw improved to a 1-1 record.
The Eagles were led by Heather Magee (10 points, 5 rebounds & 4 assists), Hannah Wilson (9 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists & 3 steals), and Thompson Mariah (8 points, 3 rebounds & 3 blocks).
Madison was led by Carmyn Parmon (9 points & 7 rebounds) and Mackenzie Cotter (4 points & 4 rebounds).
Up next, McGraw will play Poland in the “Sports Boosters Holiday Tournament” at Fabius Pompey High School on Tuesday (December 28th). The game is scheduled to tip-off at 2pm.
Varsity Girls Basketball: Cincinnatus vs. Otselic Valley
The Cincinnatus varsity girls basketball team won their first game of the season against Otselic Valley with a score of 22-10 on Monday. Cincinnatus now holds a 1-2 record.
Cincinnatus was led by Emma Finch (9 points, 5 rebounds & 3 steals), Justice Crane (6 points, 4 rebounds & 4 blocks), and Carissa Schuyler (5 points, 2 rebounds & 4 steals).
Otselic Valley was led by Emily Miller (4 points & 8 rebounds), Madison Bartlett (3 points, 8 rebounds & 2 steals), and Tori Foster (3 points, 3 rebounds & 4 steals).
Cincinnatus’ next game will be at home against Brookfield on Monday (December 20th) at 6pm.
Varsity Girls Basketball: Cortland vs. Chenango Valley
The Cortland Lady Tigers defeated Chenango Valley with a score of 48-41 at home on Monday.
With this win, the Lady Tigers improved to a 3-2 record.

Cortland’s next game will be on the road against Oswego on Friday (December 17th) at 6:45pm.
Varsity Boys Basketball: Cincinnatus vs. LaFayette
The Cincinnatus Lions improved to a 3-0 record after beating LaFayette 75-37 Monday night.
Cincinnatus was led by Kooper Vosburg (17 points, 12 rebounds & 2 steals), Canden Stafford (16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists & 3 steals), Cason Stafford (12 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists & 6 steals), Scott Schuyler (12 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists & 3 steals), and Tyler Liddle (11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks & 7 steals).
LaFayette was led by Christian DeJoseph (22 points, 6 rebounds & 3 steals), Sean Zajac (6 points, 6 rebounds & 4 assists).
Cincinnatus will look to keep their unbeaten streak going as they host Brookfield today (December 14th) at 6pm.
Varsity Volleyball: McGraw vs. Stockbridge Valley (SBV)
The McGraw Lady Eagles lost a tough game against Stockbridge Valley in three sets on Monday.
With this loss, the Eagles now hold a 0-3 record.
McGraw was led by Megan Stull (4 digs), Madison Lawrence (1 block), Madison Boyer (1 ace), Tehya Long (1 ace), and McKenzie Fuller (1 ace).
Stockbridge Valley was led by Hailey Bernet (9 kills, 6 aces & 4 digs), Abby Fisher (13 assists), and Lisa Powless (8 kills, 10 aces & 4 digs).
Up next, the Eagles will play Weedsport on the road on Friday (December 17th) at 7pm.
