Varsity Wrestling: Marathon vs. Multiple Schools (IAC Championships)
The Marathon Olympians competed in the IAC Championship Tournament this past weekend, where they placed 3rd out of 12 participating teams.
Individual highlights for Marathon
- 126: Anthony Neville (Marathon) placed 2nd after losing in the finals against Mason Welch (Tioga) - Pin
- 172: Trevor Hurlbert (Marathon) placed 2nd after losing the finals to Gage Tedesco (Waverly) - Decision 9-2
- 285: Logan Jamison (Marathon) placed 2nd after losing to Kam Hills (Waverly) in the finals - Pin
- 118: Brendan Gumaer (Marathon) placed 4th after losing the consolation finals to Kris Willard (Groton) - Major Decision 14-2
- 132: Tim Morehouse (Marathon) placed 3rd after defeating Sabyn Mahannah (Groton) in the consolation finals - Pin

Varsity Wrestling: Homer vs. Multiple Schools (Denny Wright Duals)
The Homer Trojans participated in the Denny Wright Duals this past weekend, where they went head to head against five different schools (East Syracuse-Minoa (ESM), Whitesboro, Sidney, Altmar Parish Williamstown (APW), and Bainbridge Guilford (BGAH)). The Trojans placed 1st as a team after defeating all five schools.

Varsity Track & Field: Homer vs. Multiple Schools
Both the Homer boys and girls indoor track & field teams competed in the Bob Grieve Memorial on Saturday. The Homer boys team placed 5th out of 13 schools, while the Homer girls team placed 6th out of 13 schools.
Individual Highlights
Homer Boys
- Logan Darling broke the Homer school record in the weight throw by five feet to place 5th (Result- 44’10.5”). His throw qualified him for the Section III State Qualifiers.
- Tommy Mahunik won 1st place in the 600 meter run (Time- 1:30.15). He also came in 2nd in the 300 meter dash (Time- 39.23).
- Jack Smith placed 4th in the both triple jump (Result- 36’5.5”) and the 55 meter high hurdles (Time- 8.91). He also placed 6th in the 55 meter dash (Result- 7.17). His triple jump performance was a personal best.
- Cooper Vandee placed 4th in the 1,000 meter run (Result- 2:56.47). His time has qualified him for the Sectional Championship.
- Tommy Mahunik (24.8), Cooper Vandee (24.8), Damian Brown (28.7), and Brodrick Butts (26.2) placed 5th in the 4x200 relay (Time- 1:44.65). Cooper, Damian, and Brodrick ran their best times of the year.
- Tasker Dennis broke the sophomore class record in the shot put event with a personal best throw of (37’5.25”) to place 5th. He also had a personal best throw of (36’1.5”) to break the sophomore class record in the weight throw event.
- Garrett Sickmon placed 6th in the 55 meter hurdles (Time- 9.32). His time qualifies him for the Sectional Championships.
Homer Girls
- Camdyn Cole won 1st place in the triple jump event (Result- 32’7”). She also placed 6th in the 55 meter dash (Time- 7.99). Both performances were personal bests.
- Hannah McMasters won 1st place in the shot put event (Result- 29’6.75”).
- Jane Gugerty placed 5th in the 55 meter hurdles (Time- 9.93). Her time qualified her for the Sectional Championships. She also placed 3rd in the triple jump event (32’4.25”). Her triple jump performance was a personal best.
- Camdyn Cole (29.2), Jane Gugerty (28.7), Caitlin McCloy (30.1), and Maggie Mahunik (34.3) placed 5 in the 4x200 meter relay (Time- 2:02.33). Camdyn and Maggie ran their best times of the year.
- Mayshelle Hyde placed 6th in the weight throw event (Result- 27’1.5”). Her performance was a personal best, and qualifies her for the Sectional Championships.
