Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, May 2, 2022:

A warm front will slowly push its way through the area today bringing clouds and some showers.

Rain will be possible at any time today, but there should be plenty of rain-free time. This will especially be the case during the later morning and midday hours, when rain looks least likely.

The highest chances for rain will come during the mid to late afternoon as showers develop during the daytime heating. A few brief bouts of heavier rain are possible, and a rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out.

Winds will be light today with speeds around 5 mph. Most of the time, the wind direction will be southerly, but it may wobble around from time to time from other directions.

High temperatures today will not be quite as warm as yesterday, thanks to the clouds and occasional showers. Look for highs to top out around 60 degrees. If a little sun breaks out between showers, low or even mid 60s could make a brief appearance.

Tonight, the showers will wind down, but skies will remain rather cloudy. Temperatures will remain relatively mild, staying near 50 early this evening and eventually backing into the mid 40s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Wednesday: Scatted showers. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Thursday: Sun and a few clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Friday: Thin overcast. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.
