Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Saturday, May 7

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County for the week starting May 2. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

According to the county health department, the spread of COVID-19 in Cortland County is still at a high level of transmission as of May 6.

As of May 5, there have been 11,260 total positive cases, 662 total hospitalizations and 120 deaths in the county. According to the state as of April 28, the daily average of positive tests amongst county residents is 8.4%, and the weekly average of cases per 100K is 36.1.

Since last Saturday, there have been seven new hospitalizations (with six currently hospitalized) and four new deaths.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated that are 5 years-or-older is 62.7%. Additional county numbers show that 57.4% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
