Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, May 14, 2022:

A few pop-up afternoon showers or thunderstorms will be possible today.

The day is starting off with some low morning clouds. These will burn off by the mid to late morning hours. From there, skies will be a mixture of sunshine and fluffy cumulus clouds.

As the day goes on, a few of these clouds will grow large enough to produce some localized showers. A few rumbles of thunder will also be possible.

The precipitation is expected to stay isolated, so most areas will probably see little to no rain today. Even those that do see rain will only see it for a brief time.

Any shower activity should wane quickly after sunset. Partly cloudy skies are expected this evening before another layer of low clouds develops overnight.

Winds will remain light today, coming in from the south at around 5 mph. Top gusts on the day will be just near 20 mph, though some slightly higher thunderstorm winds will be possible.

Afternoon high temperatures will reach the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Evening and overnight temperatures will fall back to around 60 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Sun, clouds, and scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
