Cortland County’s Jared Valentin (Cortland) and Hannah McMasters (Homer) competed in the 2022 New York State Championship Meet this past weekend.
Here are the results of both students athletes that represented Cortland County:

Cortland senior Jared Valentin competed in the 1,600 meter run at the NYS Boys’ Track and Field Championship Meet on Saturday (June 11th).
Valentin ran a 1,600 meter personal record time of 4:29.46, placing 12th in the state for Division II.

Homer senior Hannah McMasters competed in the shot put event of the NYS Girls’ Track and Field Championship Meet on Friday (June 10th).
All competing athletes in the shot put event were allowed three throws. The top eight athletes moved on to the final round.
McMasters was not able to place in the top eight to move on to the final round. She placed 10th overall in the state for Division II with a throw of 32’10.25”.
