An area of low pressure will track through the Ohio Valley on an approach to our region.

Thin clouds out ahead of this system will stream in this morning. The best chance for full sunshine will be early today. Once the clouds move in, a thin overcast should persist throughout the rest of the day.

In addition to the thin clouds, some normal fair-weather clouds will bubble up during the daytime heating.

Winds will be light once again, with a gentle southerly breeze at 5 mph or less. The wind will increase slightly this evening.

Temperatures will be warm, reaching a high in the mid and upper 80s. Dewpoints will remain low, spending most of the day in the 50s.

The first chances for rain will come this evening. While uncertain, a few thunderstorms out ahead of the low may rumble into the area as early as sunset. The likelihood of rain will increase through the evening and especially after midnight.

Temperatures will fall into the 70s as the sun sets, but with the clouds, showers, strengthening winds, and increasing dewpoints reaching into the 60s, it will not get a whole lot cooler overnight. Look for overnight lows in the mid 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Periods of rain and thunder. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray pop up afternoon shower or storm. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Evening thunderstorms possible. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows near 70. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
