Low pressure will meander across the region today leading to more showers and thunderstorms.

Rain will be possible at any time today with frequent bouts of on and off showers and storms. It will not be a steady rain, but the length of the dry periods between the showers will not be overly long, either.

That being said, there is a chance the late morning and midday hours will be the driest times during the entire day between waves of precipitation. This will also be the best chance for some breaks of sunshine.

Any thunderstorms will have the capability of producing heavy downpours. Some localized, mostly minor water issues may result if several heavy storms move over the same areas repeatedly. Flash flooding is not completely out of the question, but the threat is minimal.

Winds will mainly be from the southeast at speeds around 5 mph this morning. The wind may drop to nearly calm this afternoon and evening as the low passes overhead.

Temperatures will be held down by the clouds and rain with highs in the low to perhaps mid 70s.

This evening, the thunderstorms will taper to showers, and the showers will become sporadic and isolated during the overnight. Areas of fog may develop as well.

Nighttime temperatures will mostly hold steady in the mid 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Showers and storms likely. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. A few brief showers. Morning lows in the upper 50s.  Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Sun and clouds. A few brief showers. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
