Varsity Girls Soccer: Homer vs. Hannibal

The Homer Lady Trojans beat Hannibal with a score of 1-0 in the first round of the “Sports Boosters Kick off Tournament” at Fabius-Pompey. 

The only goal of the game was scored by Homer’s Catherine Apker in the first half of the game. 

Homer goalie Alex Kellaway made 8 total saves in the game. 

Up next, Homer is scheduled to play in the second round of the “Sports Boosters Kick off Tournament” at Fabius-Pompey against Fabius-Pompey at 6:30pm tonight (September 2nd).

Varsity Girls Soccer: McGraw vs. Brookfield

The McGraw Lady Eagles defeated Brookfield with a score of 1-0 in order to start their regular season off with a 1-0 record at home.  

McGraw was led by Lexi McCall (1 goal) and Chloe Rocker (8 saves). 

McGraw was scheduled to play Moravia at home today (September 2nd) at 11am. Scores and stats of that game will be posted on this page tomorrow. 

Varsity Boys Soccer: McGraw vs. Brookfield

The McGraw Eagles won 19-0 against Brookfield on the road Thursday evening. With this win, the Eagles have started their regular season with a 1-0 record. 

McGraw was led by Logan Moffitt (3 goals & 4 assists), Jaydon Bassett (5 goals & 1 assist), Bryce Murray (3 goals & 1 assist), Blake Weeks (2 goals & 1 assist), Nathan Stiles (2 goals & 4 assists), Ryan Parks (1 goal & 4 assists), Jackson Pitcher (1 goal & 1 assist), Alex Monroe (2 assists), Noah Heath (1 goal), Nick Sutton (1 goal), and Brennan Wilson (1 assist). 

“Brookfield is a very young team with low numbers and they stayed in there and kept fighting and we have to give props to them,” said McGraw Head Coach Jamey Crumb. “We were able to control the game from every position tonight and playing at Brookfield isn't always an easy task. It was a good win to gain momentum early for our season and have to take it into our game Saturday vs. Faith Heritage.”

McGraw will take on Faith Heritage at home this Saturday (September 3rd) at 11am.  

Varsity Boys Soccer: Cortland vs. Tully

The Cortland Purple Tigers lost a tough game against Tully with a score of 1-4 in the “Chittenango Boys Varsity Soccer Tournament” Thursday evening. 

Cortland was led by Spenser Dodds (1 goal) and Paul Hansen (11 saves). 

Tully was led by Julian Shay (2 goals), Jacob Verbanic (1 goal), Ryan Rauber (1 goal), Nico Marinich (2 assists), Dan Byrne (1 assist), Wes Chambala (1 assist), and Oscar Breitzka (2 saves). 

Cortland’s upcoming game is scheduled to take place at Oswego High School on Tuesday (September 6th) at 7pm. 

Varsity Field Hockey: Cortland vs. Fayetteville-Manlius

The Cortland Lady Tigers lost 0-7 against Fayetteville-Manlius in the first round of the “Hornet Pride Tournament” Thursday night. 

Fayetteville-Manlius was led by Natalie Rameas (4 goals & 1 assist), Ella Herber (3 goals & 1 assist), Carine Smith (1 assist), and Sarah Porter (1 assist). 

Cortland goalie Ella Martin made 8 total saves in the game.

Cortland was scheduled to play the consolation game of the “Hornet Pride Tournament” against East Syracuse Minoa today (September 2nd) at 10am. Scores and stats of that game will be posted on this page tomorrow.
