Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, September 11, 2022:

An area of low pressure will lift northeast towards the Great Lakes. The low will be strengthening but will remain disorganized and on the weaker side.

Nonetheless, rain is likely today as the low moves in. The rain should be light, arriving as some showers in the late morning or midday hours. A few steadier periods of rain will be possible into the afternoon, but the intensity should remain light.

Skies will remain mostly to completely cloudy during any breaks between the showers.

Light southeast winds will blow in advance of the low with speeds around 5 mph. Top gusts will be around 15 mph.

Temperatures will warm through the morning, reaching a midday high in the low 70s. The temperature will hover around 70 deep into the afternoon before dropping into the 60s as the sun sets.

This evening, lingering showers will taper off. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with temperatures settling around 60 degrees.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. A bit chilly. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.
