While the low pressure responsible for the rain and wind yesterday remains poised north of the Great Lakes, the weather today will be much different than yesterday.

Dry air wrapping around the system has moved into the area and will bring quiet weather. Skies will be sunny throughout the day with fair weather clouds mixing in during the midday and afternoon hours.

This dry air will be moving in on south-southwest winds that will increase to around 10 mph this afternoon. Top gusts will remain under 30 mph, though.

Despite a cold front moving through yesterday, the air will not be overly cold today. Look for highs to flirt with 60 degrees, though the northern hilltops will stick to the upper 50s.

Tonight, skies will clear, but a southerly flow will persist. The winds will shift to a more southeasterly direction, but they will still keep temperatures up. Evening temperatures will drop to the mid 40s with overnight lows in the low 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Sunday: A few morning showers. Increasing afternoon sun. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: Rain showers likely. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Tuesday: Rain showers possible, mixing with a few snowflakes early, late, and over higher elevations. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
