Winds will shift from the southwest this morning to the west by midday, bringing some snow showers off Lake Erie into the region.

A few flurries will be possible in the morning, as winds will shift over Lake Erie several hours before they do here. The chances for snow showers will increase during the afternoon, though.

Daytime snow amounts will be limited to a coating to perhaps locally a half-inch. Most places will see no accumulation.

Outside of the snow showers, a few peeks of sunshine will be possible, especially this morning,

Winds speeds will be near 5 mph this morning but will increase to around 10 mph as they shift to the west. These winds will persist into and through the nighttime hours.

Afternoon highs will only be near or just above 30 degrees. Few, if any, places will get above the freezing mark.

Snow showers will increase tonight as temperatures drop into the 20s. Periods of steadier snow will be possible, which may lead to localized accumulations of an inch or so.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: More clouds than sun. Scattered snow showers. Some minor accumulations possible. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs around 30.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe an early flurry. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.

Wednesday: Sun filtering through thickening overcast. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.

Thursday: Wind and rain possible. Morning lows in the upper 10s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
