Section III recently announced high school football schedules, including Homer and Cortland, for the 2023 season.
The Trojans, the defending Class B champions who finished their 2022 campaign with a 9-2 record, will compete in the new West Division. Homer’s 2023 schedule is as follows:
- Sept. 8 – at Oneida at 7 p.m.
- Sept. 14 – at New Hartford at 6 p.m.
- Sept. 22 – vs. Chittenango at 7 p.m.
- Sept. 29 – at Westhill at 6:30 p.m.
- Oct. 6 – vs. Indian River at 7 p.m.
- Oct. 13 – vs. Cortland at 7 p.m.
- Oct. 20 – at Institute of Technology at 6 p.m.
The Purple Tigers, coming off a 0-8 season in 2022, will compete in the new B-2 Division. Cortland’s schedule is as follows:
- Sept. 8 – at South Jefferson at 6:30 p.m.
- Sept. 15 – vs. Jamesville-DeWitt at 6:30 p.m.
- Sept. 22 – at Mexico at 6:30 p.m.
- Sept. 29 – vs. Ithaca (Location TBD) at 6:30 p.m.
- Oct. 6 – vs. Oswego at 6:30 p.m.
- Oct. 13 – at Homer at 7 p.m.
- Oct. 19 – vs. Southern Hills at 6:30 p.m.
The Class B playoffs are slated to begin near the end of October, with the sectional final scheduled for the beginning of November.
