A man was arrested on Friday after he violated an order of protection for the third time in the past two months, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

Michael C. Palmer, 33 of Cortland, first violated the full stay-away order of protection back on Feb. 21, which stemmed from contact with a female individual. Palmer breached the order of protection again on March 5 by texting the individual.

Palmer violated the order of protection for a third time on March 29. This led to a warrant for his arrest.

Following Friday’s arrest, Palmer is now facing three counts of first-degree criminal contempt (a Class-E Felony), a count for each arrest. He was also charged with an aggravated family offense (a Class-E Felony) and fourth-degree stalking (a Class-B Misdemeanor) from his second arrest. Palmer is also facing an unrelated second-degree criminal contempt charge.

Palmer was arraigned, and now currently being held at Cortland County Jail on a $500 cash bail or $2,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Freetown town court at 5 p.m. April 26.
