Police asks for assistance on personal equipment theft

A resident in Cortland County recently reported the theft of a laptop computer, according to a report from the Homer Police Department.

The laptop was stolen from a car inside the attached garage of a home on North Main Street in the village of Homer. The report stated that authorities believe the theft took place somewhere between 9 p.m. on Sunday and 8 a.m. on Monday.

With the investigation ongoing, the Homer Police Department is requesting assistance from those with any information on the incident. The department is also requesting exterior security camera footage from nearby residents to check for any suspicious individuals or suspicious activity between the reported time frame.

Those with information are asked to call 607-749-2022. The Homer Police Department is also reminding village residents to not leave valuables in their vehicles, and to close overhead/lock their garage doors.
