The City of Cortland Common Council unanimously approved a local law that amends city administrative code relating to mandated statewide municipal code enforcement regulatory updates at its meeting on Tuesday.

Updates to the city’s administrative code is a requirement through the administration of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code (the uniform code) and the NYS Energy Conservation Code (the energy code).

According to the updates, this pertains to all buildings, structures and premises – regardless of use or occupancy.

A breakdown of the changes made in the city’s administrative code can be seen on pages 3-27 of the supporting documents for Tuesday’s meeting.
