Waves of atmospheric energy will continue to rotate around a weakening low pressure system over eastern Canada, resulting in another showery day.

Rain, and some early snow, will be likely for the first part of the day. The precipitation may be steady at times, with snow more likely early on and rain taking over as the primary precipitation type.

The steadier precipitation will taper off by the late morning or midday hours, but additional pop-up showers will be possible through the afternoon.

These afternoon showers could have some briefly heavy rain, small hail, and a couple rumbles of thunder.

Most of the precipitation should end by around 6 PM, though a lingering shower or flurry will still be possible into the early evening hours.

Temperatures will only be around 50 degrees today and will quickly drop back into the 30s this evening.

Skies will gradually clear overnight, allowing temperatures to drop to the low 30s. A few places may even slip into the upper 20s.

Winds throughout the daytime and nighttime hours will be light and variable, if not completely calm at times.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Sunshine early and late. Partly to mostly cloudy in between. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Increasing and thickening clouds. Rain possible late. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs around 60.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with occasional showers. Morning lows around 40. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Sunday: Maybe some sun, especially early. Increasing clouds, with possibly rain late. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
