A large weather system will start to impact the area today, though most of the time it will still remain dry.

Low pressure will spend the day tracking through the Ohio River Valley. Out ahead of it, in our area, clouds will be in place for much of the day.

Despite the cloudiness, warm air will move in on light south winds. Wind speeds will be around 5 mph but will push highs in the upper 70s. A few places may even reach 80 degrees.

Most areas will remain dry through the daytime hours, but as the afternoon gets later and later, the chances for a stray shower will creep upwards.

There is a slightly better, but still low, chance for some rain during the evening hours. Showers will continue to increase overnight but most of the rain will hold off into Monday.

Winds will pick up during the nighttime hours, mainly after midnight. These winds will turn more to the southeast with speeds around 10 mph. Gusts may approach 30 mph.

Evening temperatures will settle in the mid 60s and overnight lows will only make it down into the mid and upper 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Mostly cloudy with rain increasing and possibly becoming heavy in the afternoon and evening. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Tuesday: Perhaps a lingering shower early. Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs near 70.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
