Local firefighters knocked down a barn fire during the early-morning hours of Sunday, according to a release.
The release stated that several callers reported a barn fire on Forbes Road around 1:30 a.m.
With additional reports coming of “heavy fire” from the large barn, the release noted Homer and Cortlandville firefighters found that the fire was spreading to the roof.
Crews worked together, with assistance on suppression and overhaul, to put out the fire. The fire was under control by about 2 a.m.
According to Homer fire chief Jay Riley, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was an electrical issue, the report stated.
