Two individuals were arrested over the weekend after one was driving while impaired by drugs and the other was violating an order of protection, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that officers stopped a vehicle on Saunders Road in the town of Cortlandville that had multiple traffic violations.

Kimberly Wehner, 34, of Cortland, was the driver of the vehicle. Wehner was not only driving while impaired by drugs, but also in possession of narcotics, the report noted.

Bennie A. Stafford, 25, of Virgil, a passenger in the vehicle, violated an order of protection.

Wehner was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while ability impaired by drugs (both misdemeanors) – and driving across hazard markings, insufficient muffler and uninspected motor vehicle (all infractions).

Wehner and Stafford were both arraigned and released. Wehner is due to appear in Cortlandville town court on July 11, while Stafford is slated to appear in court on June 26.
