Today will be a mostly quiet, increasingly warm day as high pressure takes control of our weather.

Skies will be a mix of sun and fair weather clouds for most of the day. There is a small chance that a couple of the clouds may grow large enough for a brief spit of rain in the mid to late afternoon. Most areas will remain completely dry, though.

Winds will be light and variable throughout the day and will often be completely calm.

Temperatures will climb into the mid 80s this afternoon. Dewpoints in the mid 60s will make it feel muggy, but not quite as oppressive as it was several days ago.

Tonight, skies will clear out with some patchy fog developing, especially after midnight.

It will be a warm and muggy night, with evening temperatures in the low 70s and overnight lows in the mid 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Sunny with a few fair weather clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s to near 90.

Friday: Sun and clouds. A midday or afternoon line of thunderstorms possible. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: A few showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs around 80.

Sunday: Rain and thunderstorms likely. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
