County Sheriff’s Blotter: Larcenies and drug possession

A couple of arrests were made over the Independence Day weekend due to larcenies, drug possession and more – according to reports from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Samantha M. Townsend

Townsend, 27, of Ithaca, was arrested Monday evening after she “failed to render payment for merchandise” before “passing all points of sale” at the Walmart store in the town of Cortlandville, the report noted. Townsend was also in possession of undisclosed drugs.

Townsend was charged with petit larceny, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia (all misdemeanors).

Townsend was processed, released and now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on July 17.

 

Ashley L. Durbin

Durbin, 38, of Cortland, was arrested this past Saturday evening after she failed to pay for merchandise at the Walmart store in Cortlandville, the report noted.

During the incident, Durbin was also in the presence of two minors. She was charged with petit larceny and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (all misdemeanors).

Durbin was arraigned, released and now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Wednesday (July 12).
