A cold front will work its way through the area during the midday hours today.

Ahead of the front, showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible through the morning and especially during the midday hours.

Severe weather is not expected, but some locally heavy downpours will be possible.

The front will move on by the early afternoon, leaving dry and sunny conditions and dropping humidity. Dewpoints will go from near 70 during the midday to the low 50s or even upper 40s by evening. This will be a big relief for those that could do without the humidity.

Winds will be light throughout the day with speeds around 5 mph. The wind will start from the south but will mostly be from the northwest.

Tonight, skies will be clear at first before some thin clouds begin to move in. Evening temperatures will drop into the mid 60s with an overnight low around 60 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Sunday: Rain and thunderstorms likely, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
