County: Woman steals personal property from vehicle

A woman was arrested on Wednesday after she stole personal property from a vehicle, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report stated that Destiny S. Waters, 22, of Greene, had “conspired with two other offenders” and stole undisclosed personal property from a vehicle that was parked in the Walmart parking lot in the town of Cortlandville.

The county sheriff’s office did not provide details on the personal property that was stolen.

The incident in the Walmart parking lot took place on April 5, 2023. On Wednesday, Winters had a warrant for her arrest and was charged with third-degree grand larceny (a Class-D Felony), seven counts of fourth-degree grand larceny (a Class-E Felony) and fifth-degree conspiracy (a Class-A Misdemeanor).

Winters was arraigned, released and is now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on July 17.
