A small weather system will move through today with a few showers and storms.

This system will also help clear the atmosphere of the latest smoke plume. The smoke will not completely dissipate during the day but should be noticeably less than yesterday. Air quality will gradually improve.

The morning hours should be dry with a mix of sun, clouds, and smoke. During the early afternoon, scattered showers and small thunderstorm cells will pop up.

These will continue through the afternoon, dissipating as the sun sets.

Individual showers and storms will be small in size and quick to move along. This should prevent anything more than a few minutes of heavy rain. Some areas will probably end up getting missed altogether.

Afternoon temperatures will work their way to around or just over 80 degrees. Winds will be light with speeds under 5 mph from the southwest, then northwest.

Tonight, skies will gradually clear and the last of the smoke should depart the area. Overnight temperatures will drop to the mid and upper 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid and upper 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. A few late showers or storms. Morning lows in the mid and upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. A few showers or storms possible. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
