Multiple construction projects will be underway this week in the city of Cortland.

Projects on Main Street is the city’s continuation of its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) projects. Cortland started working on projects last year.

According to Crown City Rising, construction crews on Monday started tying the new Main Street water mains into the existing water mains on South Main Street.

This construction work will result in lane closures on Port Watson Street and Tompkins Street. The work will also cause water service disruptions on South Main Street from the area of Port Watson/Tompkins Streets to the intersection of Williams Street.

The second project, which also started on Monday, will involve construction crews continuing to install new water service connections to properties on the westside of Main Street between Orchard and West Court Streets. This will include water service disruptions to the affected properties in the area.
