The weather will be quiet today, but a fresh batch of wildfire smoke will cast a pall over an otherwise nice day.

The smoke will be thickest through the morning hours. Some sunshine will still filter through, but the sky will likely have that milky white, hazy look to it.

Thin clouds will join during the afternoon, even as smoke concentrations drop slightly.

The good news is that the majority of this smoke will be well above the surface. Air quality should spend most of the day in the moderate category and should only be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people.

The smoke will keep temperatures a couple of degrees cooler than it would be otherwise with highs around or just under 80 degrees.

No precipitation is expected. Light southwest winds will blow with speeds around 5 mph.

Tonight will be more of the same with smoke persisting, but little else going on in the weather. Evening temperatures will gradually drop into the 60s with overnight lows in the low 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: More clouds than sun. Maybe a brief, passing shower. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
