Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, August 25, 2023:

An area of low pressure will cross the region today.

This morning, out ahead of the low, skies will be cloudy with some occasional rain showers. Winds will be out of the south with speeds of 5-10 mph.

The low will pass overhead during the midday hours. Winds should go calm and most of the rain showers will stop.

Behind the low in the afternoon, winds will pick back up from the north, again with winds of 5-10 mph. A few more showers may pop up, but the rain should be more sporadic than in the morning hours.

Between the few showers this afternoon, breaks of sunshine will be possible.

High temperatures will make it into the low and mid 70s, with muggy dewpoints in the mid and upper 60s.

A few stray showers will continue to be possible into the evening hours, but most of the time it will be dry.

Evening temperatures will slowly drop into the 60s with overnight lows making it down to the low 60s.

Saturday: Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: Morning clouds and a few showers. Some afternoon sun. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a late shower. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
